Teatr Wielki Opera Narodowa (The Grand Theater of the National Opera) is one of the most important theaters in Poland.
Through my project, I wanted to unify the identification of this place to make it more modern and easily distinguishable from others in the city.
In my project, I focused primarily on colors. I chose white and black as the basis for the designs and a separate saturated color for each design to make it easily noticeable. To make the whole thing more dynamic, I decided to edit the widths and heights of individual letters in the names of the shows. I wanted primarily to move away from classic and delicate graphic forms, often associated with ballet and opera. Through "heavy" and wide letters, the whole thing has a more expressive tone. This way, the designs will attract the attention of many people, not just opera or ballet lovers.
I also decided to change the theater's logo to a more minimalist one to make it more legible and noticeable from a distance. The fonts I used for both the logo and the names of the plays are sans-serif, while for the text describing the cast and performers
I decided to use a serif font for greater contrast.
I made all poster versions vertically and horizontally. In one version, I decided to use strips that connect together to form one long one when several different representations are hung next to each other. This way, although each project looks slightly different, they are all consistent with each other, creating a comprehensive visual identification.
